Security and Ownership of Your Ad Accounts
MetaAdsAgency works through partner access in your own Business Portfolio. You stay the owner of the ad account, Pixel, catalog, Page and Instagram account, we never ask for your password or an ownership transfer, and you can remove our access at any time.
This page explains exactly what we request, what we can and cannot do with it, and how the data we hold is handled.
01 · Ownership
Partner access is not account ownership
There are two ways an agency can run your ads. It can own the ad account and let you look in, or it can work inside your account as a partner. We only do the second. Your Business Portfolio stays the owner of every asset, and our Business Portfolio is listed under Partners with the specific permissions you chose.
That matters on the day you part ways with any agency. Campaign history, audiences built from your Pixel, the learning on your account and your payment setup all stay where they are, because they never left your portfolio.
- We never request an ownership transfer of an ad account, Pixel, catalog or Page.
- We never create an ad account for you that we hold, and never move your assets into our portfolio.
- We never ask for your personal login or password, and never ask to be made an admin of your Business Portfolio.
- Meta bills ad spend to your own payment method. Our invoice only carries our flat fee.

02 · Access
The permissions we request and why
We ask for the smallest set of permissions that lets us do the work in your plan. The onboarding checklist in the portal lists each asset with the permission to grant and verifies it once you have shared it.
- Ad account, permission to manage campaigns, so we can build, edit and pause ads and move budgets.
- Pixel or dataset, permission to view and use events, so we can check tracking and set up the Conversions API.
- Catalog, permission to manage, for catalog ads and product sets, only when you run them.
- Facebook Page and Instagram account, permission to create ads, so ads can run under your brand.
03 · Offboarding
Removing our access takes one minute
Open Business Settings, go to Partners, select our Business Portfolio and remove it, or remove single assets one by one. It takes effect right away and needs nothing from us. You can also reduce a permission at any time, for example to read-only reporting.
Cancelling your plan in the portal and removing partner access are two separate actions, and we remind you of both. Creatives produced under your plan stay downloadable in the portal and remain usable within the rights agreed with the creators.
04 · Data
How we handle your data
- What we store
- Your brief and brand assets, the creatives we produce, ad performance figures pulled from your account for the dashboard, portal messages, approvals and invoices.
- What we never store
- Your personal Meta login or password, and full card numbers, which only the payment operator sees at checkout.
- Where it lives
- With a hosting provider in the EU. Email goes through an email delivery provider, and any AI-assisted drafting goes through an AI model provider under our limits. The privacy policy lists all categories of recipients.
- Customer data
- Purchase and lead events go to Meta from your own site and server. We configure that flow and check its quality, but we do not keep copies of your customer lists.
05 · People
Two-factor authentication and who on our side has access
Meta lets every business require two-factor authentication for all people in its portfolio. We recommend you switch that requirement on for your own team, and we work with it on our side for everyone who touches client assets.
Inside our portfolio, your assets are assigned only to the people working on your account, and that assignment is removed when someone leaves your account team. Our partner entry shows in your Business Settings at all times, so you can see exactly what is shared with us.
In the portal, your team signs in with email and password, login attempts are rate limited, and each seat has a role of owner, marketer, viewer or finance. Enterprise adds single sign-on and an audit log of portal activity.
